AOL
America Online (AOL) allows you to connect to their online service by dialing an SNET Internet access number. To use AOL with SNET Internet, you must first be an SNET Internet customer and an AOL customer.
To switch your AOL connection to SNET Internet, follow these instructions (Windows 95/3.1; Macintosh users may notice small differences in the setup process):
- Open America Online
- Click "Setup"
- From the "Network & Modem" menu, choose Edit Location
- Change each box to TCP/IP
- Click "Save"
Now, when you open America Online, you will connect using SNET Internet. You can now change your AOL plan to the special $9.95/month "bring your own access" price.
- Connect to SNET Internet
- Open America Online
- Click "Member Services"
- Choose "Accounts & Billing"
- Choose "Modify Billing or Price Plan"
- Choose "Update Pricing Plan"
- Choose "$9.95/BYOA"
- Click "Select Plan"
- Click "Exit"
To connect to America Online from now on, first connect to SNET Internet and then open your America Online software.
You will be billed by SNET Internet and by America Online each month. |
